WE WERE HIRED FOR
Branding strategy, naming, logo, packaging design, messaging, e-commerce web design & build.
BACKGROUND
Skinega is a luxury vegan skincare start-up brand who had discovered an ingredient complex but needed to put an identity and growth strategy to the business.
We undertook the mammoth task of doing everything. From the brand name to the packaging, to designing and building the e-commerce website, and all things creative.
BRAND NAME
We were faced with a dilemma: educating consumers on what purple mangosteen is, whilst trying to distinguish it from mango, which is in no way related to this fruit.
We also wanted the name to have a strong association with the fruit, so in the end, we felt a playful dropping of the “e” would achieve our objectives.
PACKAGING DESIGN
The juice itself is cloudy lychee-like color, which is too light to have transparent packaging. Therefore we decided to go with bold packaging colors that represent the three different flavors. We decided to not add imagery to create more intrigue so people are more inclined to read about it on the back of the bottle. This also allowed us to maintain a simpler more millennial focus to the packaging.

LOGO
Purple mangosteen is an Asian tropical superfruit, so we looked at all kinds of imagery from countries in which it’s grown. One of those countries is Thailand and in observing their alphabet, we identified the idea for our logo, which is an abstract representation of the “p” and the “m” of purple mangosteen.

E-COMMERCE
We built a fully responsive, highly intuitive e-commerce website with a simple and sleek design to help navigate customers to purchase through this direct to consumer site.
We also wrote scripts and shot videos for the founders to showcase the product, and why it is unique.
